John Donovan Head of Enterprise and Research Development, Dublin Institute of Technology
John Donovan is currently the Head of Enterprise and Research Development, Faculty of Applied Arts DIT and on the Boards of the Digital Media Centre, the Centre for Social and Educational Research and the Executive of FOMACS (Forum for Migration and Communication Strategies), he also chairs the Institute’s Framework Strategy Group.
Previously, John was the Executive Secretary of the Irish Research Scientists' Association (IRSA). IRSA was established as a lobby group for research and development in Ireland and was the largest such group in the country. As Executive Secretary, John successfully organized and lobbied for the establishment of both the PRTLI and SFI programmes in Ireland. These programmes represent an investment in R&D of about €2b over the period.
