We would like to invite you and your colleagues in senior management to participate in this major international e Government conference called 'Cities of Knowledge' at Clontarf Castle in Dublin, Ireland on November 20th 2007. This conference is organised by Dublin City Council, and is supported by their fellow partners in the sixth framework European ICT Research project ICING (Innovative Cities for the Next Generation).
As you can see from the Conference Agenda, the high calibre line up of speakers offer vibrant case studies from a selection of European cities including the city partners from the ICING project – Dublin, Helsinki and Barcelona and thought leaders from the DIT Futures Academy, the European Commission and a wide range of global organisations such as British Telecom, Intel, Microsoft, and Cap Gemini.
Participants in this key Knowledge Management event on November 20th, will be invited to engage in follow up activities - becoming part of an influential post conference network committed to Innovative cities for the next generation. We particularly welcome participation from senior decision makers in Local Government, national administration, policy makers, business, community leaders and educational/research institutions.
Dublin Institute of Technology supports this conference as co-ordinators of the ICING project a significant 3 year project funded under FP6 by the European Commission, which seeks to develop enhanced connections between citizens and their cities using web and mobile technology. The ICING project partners are drawn not only from innovative city authorities such as Dublin, Barcelona and Helsinki, but also from leading edge technology companies eSpatial, Telefonica and T-Systems Iberia; Academic research institutions Universitat Pompeu Fabre in Barcelona, the University of Art & Design in Helsinki .
This Cities of Knowledge conference will provide a uniquely interactive opportunity for us to engage collectively on how cities can harness technology to enhance quality of life and public service provision, stimulating a regional knowledge economy.
